On 25 November 2011, a half day meeting was organized by Cambodian Federation of Employers and Business Associations (CAMFEBA) at Eden Park Restaurant. This meeting was participated by the representatives of employers’ organization, worker organizations and International Labor Organization (ILO).

The objective of the meeting was to discuss and finalize on the draft of the proposed strategic plan of action in order to develop a concrete Joint Framework between employers’ and worker organizations in eliminating Child Labour at their workplaces as well as supporting the project of the Phnom Penh Municipal Department of Labour and Vocational Training “Toward Creating a Model of a Child Labour (Worst Forms) Free Zone in an Urban Setting in Phnom Penh Municipality”.

This should be reminded that on 24 August 2011, employers’ organization and worker organizations already had the full day meeting at InterContinental Hotel to propose the strategies on what employers’ and worker organizations could do to eliminate Child Labour , but these strategies would not be considered as the formal one unless it was  approved by their management level who was in the decision-making level or the most influential persons at their workplaces.

Therefore, the meeting on 25 November 2011 was to collect all the responses from their managers in order to finalize the draft on the possible means that employers’ and worker organizations could contribute to ending child labor at their workplaces as well as at the riverside in Phnom Penh.

This meeting was adjourned with very fruitful results as many feedbacks were given on how both parties could jointly contribute to eliminating child labor. Both parties had expressed their commitments to supporting the project and also implementing the set strategies of the framework smoothly and effectively once it is officially announced to be used.
